I've just bought a VX1000. Everything seems ok apart from the shutter selections. "B" is infact, "T", and the "T" setting seems to activate a normal instant shutter operation of unknown speed. The rest of the shutter speeds are ok as far as I can judge by eye. The camera has clearly been dis-assembled at some stage as every visible screw head is marked. I wondered if the selector knob had been re-fitted incorrectly so I've lifted it off but can't see that it can be put back in any other way. Very grateful for any suggestions. Thanks,
Wayne

If the VX-1000 is like most Exakta's: Pin and groove...only with instant return mirror. I've only had one VX-1000, and that was a couple years ago. Long gone now.

You might try a thin shim under the knob.

Wayne,

You might be aware of this, but just in case you are not: when an Exakta is set to 'T', it will use whatever long speed is set on the secondary long speed dial on the right hand side of the camera, as long as that dial is wound. Could that be the problem?

Regards,

Jan

Hi,

Just in case someone missed this artical on taking apart a VXII:

The author said that the VXII is rugged and not difficult to disasssemble. I've seen that many parts inside a VXIIb are make of steel. Don't know, however, what the differences are between the VX and VX1000 shutter mechanism.

Hi.
Can someone help me out with finding the base mount for a VX1000 that a tripod plate would attach to? It is about one inch long by 3/4 inches, with the 1/4-20 threaded hole for attaching things to the camera. Mine has broken, I need another one.

If before September 1st, please reply to lahatte@vicksburg.com

Thanks.
Clay.
