First check over the cosmetic condition, then go over all the functions open the back and look through the film opening while firing each shutter speed, The slower speeds are not hard at all to check it is the higher ones that should be tested with film or a tester. Make sure the viewfinder is clear and the mirror is clean be careful not to touch it but that is another operation. Put on a flash and set shutter to X speed , look through film opening and fire you should see the whole opening illuminated. That is if it is a 35mm slr. Then as you advance the wind lever make sure the sprocket doese'nt slip, the take up spool should have some slip though. check the rewind button and that it resets after advancing the film wind. Good luck Don
