Hi,

I have a very unusual movie camera lens used for filming 35mm cinemascope motion picture films that I would like to repair.

The lens is an anamorphic lens that compresses the image in the horizontal direction by a factor of two! It is called an Ultrascope lens and was used on Arriflex 35mm cameras, dating from the 60-70s.

The lens has two significant problems. One is that I cannot get the lens to focus when on the matching camera. The other issue is that the focus ring is stiff in some areas.

Can someone help with some generic lens dismantling and repairing tips that I might apply to this unusual lens?

Thanks From,
H.
