He's probably right because on the zoom ring, it's on macro mode (with red numbers uncovered) and I can't slide the zoom ring back to normal mode (red number will be covered and white numbers will be covered). Is there a simple way to fix this yourself? I'm not a camera mechanic, though. Thanks.
