There are many low odour or odour free cheap lubricants around, smell free does not equate to 'expensive'. Many of the more ripe lubricants contain additives that are of no benefit to camera lubrication - so why bother to use them? I certainly do not want my Leicas smelling like the engine bay of my truck, the wife would banish them from the home!
