Cameras are no different to other 'mechanical' objects. For example; if you take similar engines and gearboxes from all the major automobile manufactures and then strip out the internals, you would be hard pushed to identify who manufactured each individual unit from examining the internal parts - The basic internals from each manufacture all look the same. There are only a limited number of ways to build/connect the internals of a single lens reflex - and with major bits being made by specialist manufacturers, you a bound to have similar looking internals.
