Hi,

I opened up a Rolleigon for Rollei 6000 in order to clean stuck aperture blade. While dismantling the lens, I didn't find any other way than unsoldering the solenoid cable (any better way ?) and now I'm looking at this and try to understand why they design this in such a way.

I don't actually understand why they leave the wire from the solenoid unshielded and they put a big plastic box to protect them. Is there a functional reason for that or just that heat-shrink tube were too expensive in the 80s ?
