..., well, I own several Chinese SLRs of that vintage, including the one that you call "prototype" (branded S 201), which I bought on a local fair for light industrial products from PRC in the mid 80s. Its makers seemed inspired by a number of SLRs, so it combines features of the meterless Minolta SR line, early Mirandas and, of course, Nikons. Optical quality of the standard lens is quite good, overall machining quality is far below western standard of that time. On the other hand, however, the specimens without mechanical isssues are pretty sturdy.
