There is a strip of resistor material inside the lens barrel in series with the CDS cell. Wipers attached to the aperture and speed setting controls vary the resistance. That resistor strip can get worn, or have dead spots, and the meter doesn't read correctly. I'd check that first before changing the CDS cell.

Also look carefully for corrosion on the wires and switch.

As far as I can tell, the CDS cells on various cameras of that vintage are the same.
