I'm very new to classic cameras, and in answer to the OP, I only use film cameras now, but I process my own B&W film then scan the negs. Cameras I use are Olympus Trip, Zenit E and EM, Nikon FE and F401s. The Zenit EM and trip are the most fun, the Nikon FE is the most comfortable to use. I bought my 1st digital back in 1998, big clunky sony, and have had several since. they're brilliant for crystal clear pics, instant and as pointed out cheap to run, but they got no soul....
