You can also squirt an inch of two of WD40 into a pimiento jar (or other small jar) and let it settle. There will be a layer of trash at the bottom...paraffin and other junk...what is on the top will be a nice light oil, suitable for use in all sorts of machinery, including but not limited to wristwatches and cameras.
