The shutter stays closed in Auto mode and the meter needle jumps to the A side when shutter release is pressed. Does your needle jump towards A ? If so, they say it should be a short (4 possible shorts to check) under the top cover. If this fits your case and if you feel like taking the top cover off (not straightforward for the unexperienced...), feel free to ask... Karim
