I was given an older Pentax S1a (with screw mount Takumar lens)which came from an estate. This older camera is still in pristine condition except that the mirror stays up & the shutter performance is erratic and sticks open @ speeds below 1/30th of a second. Although I've never dismantled an SLR before, I've removed the botton cover and found the gears/springs/levers perfectly clean.

I would love to get this camera working - any advice would be sincerely appreciated. I would tackle removing the top to inspect (and if necessary clean) if I had detailed instructions for doing so. Could someone point me in the right direction.

Sincerely

Glenn
