I had the same vertical metal shutter problem on a Konica Autoreflex. Someone suggested I drip a little naphtha (lighter fluid) carefully on the metal blades and pivots. Surprisingly the shutter eventually latched and has been working ever since. Guess that was a lucky & easy fix. I'm sure that was an exception!
