Great advice - thanks Jon. much cleaner. i'm now checking the shutter speeds etc. - the slower speeds which (by the sound of it) rely on clockwork seem faulty: shutter opens, clockwork ticks and then splutters out without closing shutter. similar deal with the self-timer - splutters out before reaching shutter trigger point. can this clockwork mechanism be re-tightened? or can you suggest an alternative explanation? i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to disassemble the lens/shutter assembly, so any tips would be a great help. thanks, Al |
