I have two contaflexes, one III and a Rapid. I have taken the lens/shudder assambly apart many times, and have cleaned and luricated the threads for the focus ring many times. I still can't get the focusing to be smooth and easy throughout the focusing range. It seems to bind and get harder at the close up focusing distances. I've used Remington oil with teflon, sewing machine oil, and castrol 10w40 motor oil all with similar results. Though the rem oil seems to be the best so far. Any suggestions? |
