I recently inspected my Nikon after a 2-year period of non-use. The area above the mirror which cushions the mirror slap is nearly void of its foamy material, with the remaining material shedding black flecks when the shutter is released. Other areas of the camera which use this material for light seals are also shedding this dry, friable material. Any suggestions for replacement of this material? Is this something repair shops normally do? Thanks for any suggestions.
