My beloved X-700 has recently developed a fault. The camera no longer fires my flash gun (Vivitar 283) through either the hot shoe or the PC connection. I've tried it on a different body, and it works fine on my X-300 through both the hotshoe and the PC, but for some reason it completely fails on the X-700.

Any ideas?
