Roy, this may be elementry, but have you checked the battery and the contacts? This camera used a mercury battery 1.35V, which is tough to find these days, so you may have to resort to an alkaline. One quirk if you can call it that is that the battery is inserted upside down from what you would normally think of doing. Someone may have tried to insert the battery incorrectly, and the terminals may be bent. Regardless. look for corrosion and good contact between battery and terminals. Good luck.
