the mistakes of an inexperienced...

I bought a Minolta Minoltina AL-s and it was not fully functional. The shutter was sticky and the advance gummed up.

I opened it up and removed the from elements to clean the shutter with naptha. at first it helped and then in the middle of swabbing and and triggering the shutter to work it the blades started not to return closed. at some point it all got jammed mid cock and i did what i should not have. i forced it and bent something. i bent the piece back but now the shutter will not open. it cocks and fires but the blade will not open. i took the lens apart more and got to the shutter gears but i could not see a problem.

any ideas in getting a seiko shutter to open its blades despite that it cocks and fires (blanks!)

i feel really bad about breaking this camera. i researched it and decided it was the right model for me and then i go and break it. hard because i regard it as an artists tool. i do not just want to discard it.

thanks!

alex
