Silly me, I have this service manual but I'd completely missed the lubrication pages *facepalm. Looks like I need to oil the bearing of the brass cog and lightly lubricate the tooth. Also, even tho it's not shown in the manual, I'm pretty sure the toothed ring is part 45 685.
