That is what I have been using to test my shutter speeds.I am using an LED flashlight for a signal and audacity to read the output on my computer monitor.
The combination seems very consistant but I really cannot say how accurate it is but since I can achieve predictable results and since it is all I have it is what I must use.
None of my scopes are digital so I cannot freeze the display to capture the trace.I have thought about video capturing the output and pausing it on playback to calculate the speed of the waveform but have not taken the time to do it yet.
The previous discussion by Marek was targeted right at me.I don't have complete confidence in the faster speeds that I am reading,1/500 seems to struggle to get 1/300 with my test setup and his explanation redeems my observations somewhat.Thanks again for taking the time to post that for us.Ron G
