I recently obtained a Leica IIIf RD ST camera that exhibits some internal issues. Initially the shutter was releasing intermittently so I adjusted the trigger spring and was able to obtain consistent releases. The slow speeds seem to function fine, as well as the 'slower' fast speeds, however the 1/200th, 1/500th, and 1/1000th settings hang up. As the shutter is released the first curtain travels slightly with the second curtain and then stalls. Occasionally the 1/200th / 1/500th settings do function though the 1/1000th does not whatsoever. I attempted lubing the 1st curtain brake, adjusted the 1st curtain cam, and the trigger plate but to no avail. I later realized that the sprocket, though completely disengaging from the curtain wind gear, refused to rotate in sequence on the aforementioned speeds. So now I am at a loss - Is the problem with the sprocket / curtain wind gear or does the 2nd curtain cam need to be lubed?

Thanks all in advance.

N.
