I have a Canon 35mm f2 screw mount lens and the aperture ring became a bit squeaky. Next thing I know a small, thin round wire slides out of the aperture ring and now the stops don't click into position anymore - the aperture ring is very loose.

I sent it to Calumet Photo and they sent it to Canon. Canon said they couldn't fix it and no explanation why. Is it fixable? Anyone know what could be wrong and what to do?
