Maybe some other more experienced forum member can help out here. I do know there are no parts in those vintage cameras that are superfluous. I faintly remember I had some problems putting the assembly back together because I did not put the spring-loaded brass lever on the thin steel bar like shown in the pictures and that was why the aperture mech wasn't working like it is supposed to. That is why I usually take notes before disassembly.
