My usual source - eBay seller howardpianoind (who by the way, has a pretty reasonable price for 10-ft lengths I would say) - has sizes down to number "0" which is .009-inch diameter. I wonder if the .005" guitar string that Hi_country_flash mentioned would be about the right size? Incidentally, I wonder if the OP ever found/made a replacement? It's been about 10 months and we haven't heard back from him. Regardless, it is still a worthwhile discussion I would say. Jeff
