I posted an enquiry re. This problem, 2011 (no replies) just searched internet unsuccessfully so back here again! It is a 1950ies coated version.
The lens iris stuck at, I reckon f16. The front aperture setting rim clicks nicely but does not alter the iris; I'm told it may be the linking pin? Broken. The brass lens looks undamaged, focus moves slightly stiffly.
When set to min distance 1.75ft (lens out max) there are three equi distance tiny screws seen around the lens body? The iris seems to be in the 'middle' of the body. The rear elements have 'peg ‘lock rings, so could be removed but unsure if this would achieve anything.(I removed the front element but this reveals no further rings). A slim serrated ring is now more accessible (looks like it could? give access to the aperture rim) but it will not turn? The rear face of the lens fits flush to the camera body, no signs of an unscrewing ring/s. Just one tiny brass pin in a locating? Hole. My previous 'suck it and see' unscrewing things have not all been successful! So, not wishing to kill a rare camera/lens I wait for any advice... any Robot repairers out there? thanks silversurfer.
