Hi Marek thank you for the kind offer  I laboured over it for a while this afternoon and managed to place the spring back where I'm fairly sure it sits. It was very, very hard work making everything stay together but the moment it all clipped back into place I was an exceptionally happy man! I still have a slightly sticky/slow shutter and I think I've reached the limits of my tear down, I can't remove the shutter from the focusing assembly so I can't get to the blades to clean them, I may try repeatedly flushing them with some Isopropyl Alcohol and hope for the best. There doesn't seem to be any examples of a D2 repair documented on the internet  Just noticed a typo in my subject, it was meant to say Copal. |
