Recently picked up (cheap) a nikon zoom 800 in great condition except for constant flashing of LED screen. Also, the lens moves jerkily forward, sometimes stalling at various distances; it fails to retract until battery is removed, and later replaced at which it retracts spontaneously. No corrosion in battery bay. New batteries get same results. Any thoughts or suggestions?
(Your help salvaged my OMPC a couple months ago.) Since my recent retirement, I am eager to learn as much as possible. Thanks for any help offered.
