I started by calling a leather shop, he sent me to Leather Smith. His forte was repairing leather straps etc. For a strong almost invisable repair he charged me only $15.00 . This should be a fun Camera & no batteries at all. If it still takes pics like those my Dad took I'll be very happy. Mike
