Hello, need some help I proudly own a Canonet QL17 the one problem that I have had with this camera has been the film rewind knob. It has fallen off on me several times in the past and have been able to screw it back on but this time I have lost this particular piece. Does anyone know how I can get a replacement piece or how I can possible save the film that is currently in it. Thank you in advance.

Hi Conrad, to save the film, I would take the camera to the hardware store and try to find a screw that fits where the rewind knob would go (it's probably metric). Then you should be able to rewind the film with some pliers (very carefully, of course). As for a replacement, I would post a question in the swap zone forum on this web site, maybe someone has a spare from a parts QL17. Also, my guess would be that a rewind knob from a number of other versions of the Canonet would fit your camera. But I'm not sure, since I only own a QL17 G3 and cannot actually try that.

Send me your address and I will ship the piece to you - if you are prepared to cover transatlantic mail (no cost, just shipping).
