Hi, glad I found this site. Wonderful stuff here; a dream come true! Anyway, I have a beautiful Canon Canonet 28 purchased in a thrift store that had a battery in the compartment explode and the corrosion ate the wire off of the terminal. I have cleaned it up and have been trying to soldering the wire back on but it always wicks up some evil brown plastic stuff and it ruins the join. Should I replace the entire wire or is there a technique I can use to solder the wire in place? |

I have attached wires using conductive epoxy. If the heat of soldering is causing your problem, conductive epoxy may work. You can find some in the rear window defroster repair kits found in auto parts stores. |
