Just bought one off ebay...looks and performs great on initial inspection....except for one thing. The back wont close.... its really annoying. It looks like a pretty simple little latch system but no matter what I do I cant get to back to click in. Would something like this cost much to fix at a shop? Anyone familiar with this know what to do?
At a guess the camera may have been worked on and the "repairer" forgot to replace the latch spring before attaching the top cover. A 10 minute job for a professional to fix.
Another cause may be that the "hook" on the back is not engaging with the latch on the body because the back is distorted slightly, or may even be missing-it's riveted on in some models. Gently push the "hook" end of the back in towards the body, making it more concave and likely to engage -this might work.
