Hi, I am new here and my father passed away and left me a Voigtlander Vito 11 (at least i think thats what it is) and it needs some minor repairs, I live in Berkshire can anyone recommend a good camera repair centre...Andy |

It needs film in it to work. The film turns the sprocket wheel next to the film take-up spool and that cocks the shutter so it can shoot. (Just in case you were not familiar with that). |

Hello. Before you lash out on film, turn the inner sprocket by hand, just to check if the camera works. As for a camera repair centre, cost would likely exceed value of camera. Of course, sentiment comes into the equation, which is why I have my Mum's Agfa box camera in my collection...... |

As far as i know the camera works its just that the shutter at the front wont open.. |

Hello. Could be that lubricant has caused the leaves of the shutter to stick together.Open it up & apply lighter fluid with a cotton bud. GENTLY wipe with some paper towel & do this as often as neccessary. This technique has worked for me. |

You do know that the shutter has to be cocked with the lever on the shutter to make it shoot? |
