I was asked to look at an AGFA Optima Sensor Flash model. The owner accidentally flipped the door closed too hard, and the door's locking hook/prong/latch seems to have broken off, perhaps inside the body. I don't hear it rattle around in there, but also never saw this model before it was broken. How the body comes apart isn't terribly obvious, but the matter of locking the door shut remains an issue even if I figured this out. This is an uncommon camera in the U.S., I think; hardly ever on the auction sites with N.A. sellers. Great, huge viewfinder - and the owner is an elderly eyeglass wearer who sought out this feature. Is there a decent way to (beyond a giant rubber band!) to fix a door latch (with or without the missing piece), without getting a new door? If no easy fix, can anyone recommend a similar, pocketable, manually focused 35mm camera with an excellent lens and a GIANT bright viewfinder? I know many the meet all but the last criteria, which is a necessity here. |
