My ql17 has a tiny wobble in the lens. Is this normal? or should it be completely tight? I'm talking about a very small bit of wobble. like 1/16th of an inch or less. It feels like it is loose in the camera body by a tiny bit.

the most common cause of this is loose screws in a body panel that the lens/shutter attaches to. to reach them you have to peel back the leatherete at both sides of the lens, remove a cover plate at each side and then hunt for 4 phillips head screws in the corners. make sure these are tight, then see if your lens stoll feels loose.

I'll give it a try rick. but the top and bottom plates overlap the body panels. one screw is half under the top plate. and I'll have to remove the G-III QL nameplate. Its covering a screw. It would be a lot easier if the coverplate screws were more accesable. :)

yes, it would... the GIII plate is particularly annoying, i've even considered cutting myself a new piece of leather without the opening for it.

well i got it all apart. (only lost one part, but found it in the trash) tried tightening everything in sight. nothing seemed loose. I'm going to assume it is within specs. The wiggle is tiny and I can't see how it could have much effect on picture quality. I went and tried wiggling a couple other cameras and the konica III is the same and That camera takes great pics.

The lenses on these are not rock-solid. If everything is tight inside, a very small amount of residual play is probably normal.
