I found this setting on my Hi-matic E. It has E-D-C-B-A. It is a sliding lever on the sie of the lens barrel. What's it for?
P.S. I get good exposures using 3 LR44 batteries.

On the back of the camera there should be a table explaining the settings. It's some kind of modified guide number setting, the setting varies with flash guide number and ASA setting.
