Hi all- I aquired a Asahi Pentax S2. I have removed the bottom plate, cleaned all the gears, placed a few needlepoints worth of Nyoil on the gear pivot shafts. But the camera shutter curtains are still slow. Is it possible to increase the tension on the curtains? Can someone explain how this is done?
Richard, Select the speed in 1 second and increase the second curtain tension till you obtain 1 seg. The put 1/1000 and increase the first curtain tension o reach 1/1000. Use a TV or speedtester to verify all speeds are in range. If you need too much tension on curtains a deeper cleaning and lubing will be required. Recently I fixed a S3 (H3), very similar as far as I know to S2. So I have "fresh" information. Write me privately if you need some help. Good luck, Rafael
