I stumbled across a sweet Oly XA4 in great condition at an Estate sale. it came with the A1L flash. I got it home and couldn't see how to replace the batteries in the flash. I got online and have read that they are "irreplaceable" Lithium cells but could be swapped out easily by someone so inclined. I'm inclined but can't find any articles on how to open it up. I don't want to destroy it experimenting, does anybody know how to open up this flash? |

Got it, screws are under the rubber scratch guard that I thought was just more plastic... (tail between legs) |

They use 2 Lithium batteries, in series via a soldered contraption. Manual says "Not user replaceable, see a dealer". There was plenty of charge left let me tell you, after shocking the shit out on myself a couple times I finally went and put on a pair of latex gloves LOL. I read somewhere ("Rangefinder Forum"?) the exact item number, can't remember. |
