I just got a used Vivitar lens that used to be used on a Minolta XG-7, but I need an adapter so I can use it on my Fujica STX-1, which uses the Fujica x-mount. Where can I get an adapter to use the Minolta-mount lens with my Fujica camera? I do already have an adapter that I use to mount Pentax screw mount lenses on my Fujica, so would it possible to get an adapter that converts the Minolta mount to the Pentax, and then piggyback the two adapters? Or is that not a good idea? |

I am afraid this is not possible. Fuji made an adapter for M42 screw mount lenses to fit on their X mount bodies since early Fuji cameras had M42 mount, too, and they did not want to disappoint owners of those lenses. But the Minolta MD mount seems to have a bigger diameter than M42 so it never will fit into any adaptor for M42 lenses. Some camera manufacturers made adaptors to 'upgrade' older lenses (as described above), but in most cases it is not possible to use bayonet mount lenses from manufacturer A on bodies from manufacturer B. |
