I recently picked up a nice T 50 with a Canon 35-70 zoom lens. Only when I got it home did I realize that it appears to be locked into the flash mode, for the flash signal is on all the time in the viewfinder, along with the "P." Pointing it toward a bright light makes no difference. The flash signal stays light, which leads me to believe that it's locked into a 1/90 shutter speed. Does anyone know of any way to get it back into the "P" mode?

Is your lens aperture set to A?

Yes it is set to A. I tried it with different lenses as well, but the flash signal stays on. There must be a contact stuck or something.

Is there a microswitch in the hot shoe? If so it might be stuck and thereby cause the camera to think there is a flash attached.

Anders
