Hi there. I thought I'd clean and lube the aperture ring on my 35/1.4, as I've done before on a couple of other Nikkors. It seemed easy enough until I went to re-engage the little coupling plate that screws onto the inside edge of the aperture ring and goes down inside the barrel to (I assume) move the diaphgragm mechanism. I think it's a matter of getting the correct sequence of operations, as there's a slight jamming that's dependant upon the relative positions of the focusing barrel and the diaphragm's body-coupling tab. However I've carefully tried every position and variation I could think of, and it just doesn't want to locate correctly. Hope this is a clear enough explanation. Has anyone done this successfully, or can offer an exploded view? Thanks very much for any feedback! Dave |

nobody else is picking this up, so..... I haven't worked on a 35/1.4, Dave. I do have notes on some other lenses, including the 35/2 and the 24/2, which might (or might not) offer some clues. If you don't get a better offer elsewhere, email me and I can send you what I do have. |

Sounds like the diaphragm's moved a small amount, try to move it either way with a small screwdriver inserted in the back of the lens. then try to assemble. |
