i have a recently purchased Canon Canonete a lot like the one shown here: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/1955-1969/data/1961_net.html it's a lens-shutter style but the shutter itself will not close. the aperture, lightmeter, and the rest of the mechanics all work, but the shutter is jammed. is this common? can i fix it on my own? if not, will it be a pricy repair? thanks a lot! -mike |

if this happens when you have it on the automatic setting, the shutter locks when the exposure is not right. you'll see a red warning light through the viewfinder. the instruction manual is on this website. if this happens on manual settings, i don't know. my canonet takes great pix on both manual and auto. |
