The winder on my f-1n travels twice as far as my other cameras to cock the shutter. It's a pain to move my thumb that far each shot. Is something wearing out or could this be normal for this particular camera. Is there an adjustment I can make?

Leverwind travels through 139 degs to cock the shutter on all F-1 models. The ready or stand off position is at 30 degs.

As you can ratchet/partial stroke the lever, I cannot see what the problem is. If you have discomfort in moving the lever through one single stroke, just keep working the lever through an arc that you find comfortable, until it locks.

On many cameras, the use of partial strokes is in fact the fastest method of winding on. This is due to not needing to alter one's grip, of the right hand on the body.
