I took apart my old ME Super to replace the ASA plate from a donour ME Super bought on the eBay. Everything ok, but now I have a spare (copper?) "C" shaped ring 1/4 inch diameter: where does it come from? It it possible that it comes from the shuter button? Ben |

I can think of three C-shaped retainer rings on a Super. One is indeed in the shutter button assembly. Without it the shutter button will not feel right. Then there is one in the detent mechanism of the rewind shaft. And the last one holds the counter together. If this one is missing the counter wouldn't stay together. Henry |

Thanks a lot! So it must be on the shutter buttom assembly, but my original ME Super hasn't got any, while the spare part came from the donour, which still works flawlessly. Yep, that is the one I was envisioning. It goes under the shutter button. Don't have a disassembled ME Super here, but from memory, I think it sets the proper shutter button height so the auto-manual engager works with less stroke and the remote release cable functions properly. Henry |
