Hi All, I'm cleaning a Canon F-1. How does the Shutter speed dial come off? According to the service manual, there is a tiny "leather" cap that comes off to reveal a screw in the center. Mine appears to be metal, and doesn't want to, or is able to come off. I must be missing something due to inexperience. Any help would be apreciated. Will |

put a drop of lacquer thinner on cap and then grip with smooth jaw pliers, pop it up with sharp screwdriver or anything that will remove it with as little damage as possible. |

Hi Ed thanks - I got it! The manual pic is not very accurate. It makes it look like it's the center of the button that comes off, not the whole thing. Thanks again, Will |
