Just bought the camera, only to find that all the shutter speeds seem exactly the same, maybe 1/60th.(I know I should have checked it out more thoroughly). Is there a solution? |

Sometimes it happens that a shutter works at one speed only no matter which speed you set. However, it should be running with its top speed, but sometimes this is hard to tell with the naked eye. I have encountered this several times and found that in these cases the cam follower of the speed escapement had gummed up. Open the shutter, and look out for a pin which is supposed to ride on a irregular shaped slot in the speed cam disk. It should return to the edge of the slot when the shutter is cocked. If not, clean the escapement gears with lighter fluid. |

Thanks Winfried - I've tried cleaning it with lighter fluid 3 or 4 times, now.Sometimes it seems to want to work correctly, but gets stuck, other times it just clicks at the same speed.I'll keep trying. |
