Hi all, I have a Canon F-1 that needs a new shutter curtain. Does anyone know if the titanium shutter material is still available? I also need the ribbon material. Tia, Will |

have never known the tit. material to be available--always (seldom) used new curtain assy. from manufacturer--I would think that it likely not available for the old F1--try Canon. |

Will, I recently had my Canon F1 (1971 model) repaired to include a new titanium curtain. The Bozeman (Montana) Camera Repair technician said he had to order a still available F1n 'substitute' curtain. Apparently the F1n curtains work fine in the old F1 as I have run 2 rolls of film through mine with fine result. My old curtain functioned but it was badly rumpled (I hear that is a not an uncommon problem for older Canon F1 & Canon 7). I should think any reputable repair service technician can still obtain the titanium curtain(s) you need for your F1. As I recall the curtain part cost approximately $50 above the $100 CLA. |
