hey i found my dads old pentax k1000 and started playing with it. it works fine i think i've shot two rolls and film threw it. the only thing that wrong with it, is that the dial that tell you how many pictures you've taken (i think its called the Asa) but its stuck and doent move. i took off the cover and tried to un screw the dial. i couldnt get the screw that holds the dial off.

That is called the frame counter. The ASA dial is inside the shutter speed knob.

It is common for the frame counter to get sticky in older cameras as oil dries up and dirt accumulates .... sometimes you can get it to go back to zero by slapping the camera while the back door is open.

A proper cleaning probably requires removing the top cover from the camera, but you might try dripping a drop or two of cigarette lighter fuel under the edge of the counter dial so that it flows under it and into the mechanism... this might free it up, and i don't think there's anything under there that it will hurt.

The reason you can't get that screw out is because it's a left hand thread.
