I have a FED 5B with a few pinholes in the shutter curtains is it prcatical to patch them with something? I don't know how to make new ones or where you could get new ones economically I could also use a viewfinder retaining nut. This has likely been on her before but in my brief search I did not find it. Thanks Jay |

Use matt black fabric paint - plenty of input on the Forum, search the archive. A few 'Russian' eBay sellers offer Fed/Zorki replacement curtains. I purchased some quite cheaply a couple of years back - genuine NOS items. |

I use "Liquid electrical tape", similar to Glenn's fix; it stays flexible & doesn't crack. In either case, apply it to the fabric side, not the rubber. |

Thanks Guys ! I had though of RTV silicone but not sure how well it would work. If you could just tell me how to make that flyaway spring from my Retina IIc syncro gear come back, or where to get one I'll really be doing great! Jay Jay |

I have had some 100% acrilic paint on a shirt for many many washings in hot water and it won't come off and it is still flexible. Jay |

Don't use silicone: it takes forever to dry, it won't stick and most of it is not opaque enough. It stays flexible, but in this case 1 out of 4 isn't enough. |
